5th Mrs. Farnham

My name is Elissa Farnham, and I am a fifth grade teacher at Zamora Elementary.

I was born and raised here in Woodland. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from California State University, Sacramento, and my teaching credential along with my Masters in Elementary Education from Western Governors University.

I have been working in education for 14 years. I began as a volunteer in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program at Plainfield Elementary while I attended college. Later I was hired as a paraeducator for WJUSD in an Special Day Class. Once I finished college, I went back to Plainfield Elementary’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program where I worked for 3 years as a sign language paraeducator, interpreter and teacher. I went on to teach second grade at Holy Rosary School for 3 years before staying home with our children while they were little. In 2021, I began substituting for WJUSD exclusively at Zamora and am excited to officially be a part of the staff!

I am married to Matt Farnham, a farmer in the Sutter Basin area. We have two children, Liam and Natalie and two dogs named Chance and Rip. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. Our kids keep us busy with their sporting events and 4H projects. I also am an executive board member of Omega Nu, a local philanthropic organization that focuses on helping women and children within Yolo County.

I look forward to the AHA! moments students experience while learning new things and enjoy watching their growth and achievements.
