5th/6th Combo Mrs. Johnson
Hello Zamora families! My name is Michelle Johnson and I will be teaching the 5/6 combo class. I am so excited to be back at Zamora after spending the last year teaching at another school.
After several years working as a community college English teacher and in marketing for an education technology company, I took some time off to raise our three children. Once our youngest was in school, I began working at Zamora supporting K-3 students with reading and writing. It was that experience that inspired my career change to becoming a classroom teacher.
I grew up in Woodland myself, attending our local schools. I went to college at Sonoma State University, where I earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in English. I met my husband Thad in Sonoma County, and we lived there for several years together. Once we started our family, we moved back to Woodland to be closer to our families.
With three busy children, we spend most of our “free” time watching their activities, from volleyball to baseball to basketball. When not at a field or a court, we love to travel and see new parts of the world, as well as spend time with our extended family and friends.
I have been a part of the Zamora community for many years as a parent, as all of our children attended Zamora! I’m so thrilled to be a part of Zamora as a teacher. I know that Zamora is a very special community. I look forward to working with my students and families to have a wonderful school year!
